The Fearnley brand dates back to 1955 when Duncan Fearnley first started to make cricket bats in Yorkshire. Whilst playing cricket during the summer months Duncan subsidised his income by making bats for sale during the winter. After finishing his professional career at Worcestershire in 1968 he decided to concentrate on his love of making cricket bats forming the Duncan Fearnley company, initially just selling cricket bats. At this point Duncan wanted to innovate and was the first to introduce a proper logo on a bat giving birth to the famous black wicket symbol, which is internationally recognised today.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the governing body of cricket in England and Wales. Two content managed eCommerce websites were also needed to sell the offical range of ECB coaching and umpiring clothing and equipment.
